AEM Special Collection: Geriatric Emergency Medicine

Read Part OneRead Part Two

Academic Emergency Medicine is excited to announce the release of Part 2 of the Geriatric Emergency Medicine Collection, completing this landmark two-part special collection dedicated to advancing emergency care for older adults.

The overwhelming interest and submissions from the emergency medicine community resulted in the need to expand the collection into two parts. This extraordinary response reflects the growing importance of geriatric emergency medicine and the shared commitment to improving care for aging populations.

The complete collection features a comprehensive series of original research articles, research letters, commentaries, reflections, and letters that showcase emerging evidence, innovative practices, impactful education, and evolving concepts in geriatric emergency care.

In one easy-to-access compendium, readers can explore the latest advancements shaping the future of care for older adults in emergency settings. The full collection also spotlights the updated Geriatric Emergency Department Guidelines and the accompanying systematic reviews supporting evidence-based practices for clinicians, educators, and researchers.

AEM extends sincere congratulations and thanks to all authors who contributed to this collection, as well as special appreciation to the peer reviewers whose thoughtful and insightful reviews helped bring this important work to publication.

Thank you as well to the Guest Editors and AEM Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey A. Kline, MD, for their expertise and leadership in bringing this collection to print.
