Biography
Katie Buck, MD, MPH, is an associate professor with tenure of emergency medicine at The Ohio State University and a clinical researcher in geriatric emergency medicine.
Dr. Buck earned her medical degree from the University of Virginia and completed her emergency medicine residency at The Ohio State University, where she served as chief resident. She later completed a Society for Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM)-approved research fellowship in geriatric emergency care.
Her work focuses on improving emergency care for older adults through development of innovative care models and advancement of geriatric emergency medicine. She has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and received funding from the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Buck is active in the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM), including leadership in the Academy of Geriatric Emergency Medicine (AGEM), where she served as president. She has received national recognition for her research, including the SAEM Academy of Geriatric Emergency Medicine (AGEM) Excellence in Geriatric Emergency Medicine Research Award, SAEM Resident Researcher of the Year, and the AGEM Early Career Achievement Award. She also on the Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation Board of Governors.
