    Mitchell Blenden, MD, is a PGY-3 at Northwestern University. Dr. Blenden completed medical school at the University of Central Florida and completed his undergraduate work in biomedical engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Following undergraduate studies, Dr. Blenden worked for four years in biotechnology as a product development engineer. Currently, Dr. Blenden serves as the RAMS Board Secretary-Treasurer and RAMS Board liaison to the Awards Committee.
  • Patricia Hernandez, MD

    Patricia Hernandez is a PGY2 at the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine program. She is a University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine alumna, and a member of the class of 2018 at Princeton University, where she studied molecular biology and global health policy. In addition to her interests in medicine, she also enjoys advocacy, health equity, teaching, mentorship, ultrasound, and research.

    Joseph B. House, MD

    Joseph House, MD, completed his undergraduate work at Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He attended medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. He completed an Emergency Medicine Residency at Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. He then returned to Michigan and completed Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at University of Michigan, after which he joined the faculty in 2010. Currently he is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics and Communicable Disease. He currently serves as the Director of Medical Student Education for the Department of Emergency Medicine. 

  • Navdeep Sekhon, MD

    Navdeep Sekhon, MD, is an Associate Professor and Clerkship Director (EM Clerkship) at the Baylor College of Medicine Henry J. N. Taub Department of Emergency Medicine. Sekhon did medical school at the University of California at San Diego and residency at East Carolina University. He has been advising medical students interested in emergency medicine since 2016. Sekhon is currently a Member-at-Large for the Executive Committee of Clerkship Directors in Emergency Medicine (CDEM).
  • David Tillman, MD

    Director, Medical Student Education

    University of Wisconsin

    Dr. Tillman is currently Director of Medical Student Education for the University of Wisconsin Department of Emergency Medicine. He earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed his emergency medicine residency training at the University of Wisconsin, where he served as chief resident during his final year. He then completed a fellowship in Undergraduate Medical Education at the University of Wisconsin, after which he joined on as faculty at UW in 2016. Since joining the Department of Emergency Medicine as a faculty in 2016, Dr. Tillman has led emergency medicine to be one of the most highly sought specialties in the UW School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) and has been pivotal in both advancing and evolving the EM curriculum and clinical experience for students. He serves or has served in consequential leadership roles with the School, including the ForWard Curriculum Steering Committee, Statewide Campus Direction Committee to improve and support educational experiences at clinical sites across Wisconsin, and on the Acute Care Block Design Team. Dr. Tillman also leads the Emergency Medicine Interest Group (EMIG) at UW SMPH, a program that introduces medical students to the field of emergency medicine and fosters students’ interest in the specialty. Dr. Tillman was recently awarded the 2021 Young Educator Award from the Clerkship Directors in Emergency Medicine, an Academy of the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine. His career interests center on medical student and resident education and include mentorship, simulation, and curriculum development.
