"Rates of Cardiorespiratory Depression in Emergency Department Sedative Strategies"

Cardiorespiratory depression with sedative strategies: This will be the first study to directly compare rates of respiratory depression, as measured by endotracheal intubation, and hemodynamic instability, as measured by vasopressor administration, between different sedative strategies in the emergency department. Relevance: We propose that this analysis will be the definitive comparative analysis of sedative data available to date. The Epic Cosmos™ database includes 1,748 hospitals with more than 300 million patients. Relevance: We propose that this will be the largest analysis of this clinical question possible. Notably, a clinical question for which a randomized, controlled trial is unethical and therefore not possible.
