Digoxin Toxicity: Stratification and Evidence-Based Decision Making for Emergency Medicine Pharmacists
Despite its declining use, digoxin toxicity remains a high-risk clinical challenge encountered in the emergency department, particularly among older adults and patients with renal dysfunction, electrolyte abnormalities, or significant drug interactions. This webinar, sponsored by the Academy of Emergency Medicine Pharmacists (AEMP), will review the recognition, risk stratification, and evidence-based management of acute and chronic digoxin toxicity, with a focus on practical decision-making for emergency medicine pharmacists. Participants will learn how to identify patients at risk, interpret clinical and laboratory findings, determine appropriate use of digoxin immune Fab, and optimize interdisciplinary management to improve patient outcomes.
