What Academic ER Docs Should Know About Sexual Harassment: A Webinar Introducing Key Concepts and Resources
This webinar has been created in parallel with the development of a position statement by the SAEM Board of Directors regarding Sexual Harassment and Sexual Misconduct. The intent of the webinar is to create a primer for discussion and reflection for members of the SAEM community across all disciplines of academic emergency medicine. We will be grounding upon core definitions, the scope of the problem, the meaning of a mandatory reporter as well as potential barriers to or challenges with reporting. Given the complexity of this topic, this webinar is intended as an evidence-informed introduction only. It has been intentionally developed by a diverse group of faculty with varied experiences in leadership to better reflect the general membership of SAEM and our respective understanding of this important topic. It is not meant to replace legal counsel nor to be an all-encompassing review of your institution’s policies and procedures.
