August 2026

Welcome new interns beginning residency! SAEM offers several ways to become engaged to connect with peers, grow as a leader, and contribute to the specialty. RAMS and SAEM are also working on launching a centralized mentorship program to better connect residents and medical students with mentors across the academic EM space, which will launch through SAEM ConnectED, our new members-only online community hub. The RAMS Board is working on several projects at this time, including developing a Professional Development Hub at the SAEM27 Exhibit Hall in San Francisco, and has prepared a ResidencyCAS information hub for resources designed to help navigate the application process. RAMS and SAEM are also committed to supporting trainees throughout the ACGME EM program requirement changes, taking effect July 2028.
