The support of generous donors will empower the next generation of emergency medicine (EM) leaders to drive groundbreaking advancements. Together, we can ensure a brighter future for emergency care and make a transformative difference in patients' lives. Here are some ways you can give!

Donate on #GivingTuesday

Consider a one-time donation on GivingTuesday, held annually on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving! This global initiative encourages individuals, communities, and organizations to celebrate generosity through donations, volunteering, and other acts of kindness.

Grand Rounds & Honoraria

Award recipients and conference speakers who receive speaker fees or honoraria may choose to donate the prize to one or more of the designated funds of the SAEM Foundation! If you wish to donate your honorarium, and potentially avoid the taxable income, you must designate that the paying organization transfer the honorarium directly to the SAEM Foundation. By submitting a request to redirect your honorarium, you will not need to complete a W-8 or W-9 tax form. If you accept the honorarium check, it may become taxable income. Please consult your tax advisor for official regulations on donating honorarium and speakers' fees.

The SAEM Foundation routinely handles arrangements for honorarium recipients. Please download and complete the Honorarium and Speakers Fees Donation Form and email a copy to both the organization you are receiving the award from and to SAEMF. Tribute Gifts

Many often struggle to find the right words to thank our mentors and colleagues for the impact they have made on our careers, and quite frankly, there are no words to describe how valuable these people are to us, our families, and to our specialty. Giving to the Foundation is the perfect way to say thank you to a mentor who has changed your life in a positive way or to celebrate the achievements of your mentee. Donate to SAEMF in their name or memory, and we will email the honoree (or their family) informing them that a gift was made in their name - one that will pay forward the support you received from them to future academic emergency physicians-in-training.

Workplace Giving

Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage employees to contribute to charitable organizations. Most of these programs match contributions dollar for dollar, but each company's program varies. Depending on your company's program, your donations may be eligible as well. While academic institutions will not always match, if your spouse is in a corporate setting, their company may match. We will recognize you (and your spouse, if applicable) for the full amount of the donation received!

If you would like your gift to do twice as much, contact the Human Resources department where you work, as they will be able to tell you if your gifts to the Foundation are eligible to be matched and provide you with the required paperwork.
