“ED-Based Prognostication of ARDS Onset and Severity"

Dr. Katie Lebold is an Emergency Medicine physician-scientist working to improve care of critically ill patients with acute lung injury. She is currently an Emergency Medicine second-year resident at Stanford University and provides patient care in both the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. Her research focuses on earlier identification, prognostication, and intervention in patients with or at risk for acute respiratory distress syndrome. Dr. Lebold’s work employs biological phenotyping and risk stratification of patient’s with acute lung injury at the time of Emergency Department presentation to better prognosticate outcomes and facilitate interventions earlier in the course of critical illness. Her goal is to further elucidate the early biology of acute respiratory distress syndrome to improve outcomes for patients when they present to the Emergency Department.
