Committees play a vital role in advancing ADIEM's mission. Considering joining one of ADIEM's committees and take part in furthering vision and objectives of ADIEM. If you have questions or would like to join an ADIEM committee, please email adiem@saem.org.

Accommodations Committee

The ADIEM Accommodations Committee shares the belief that all people have the right to accessible medical care and health care training. It seeks to promote physician delivery of equitable care regardless of a patient's disability (physical, mental/cognitive, emotional) or cultural/linguistic discordance. The committee also seeks to promote accommodations for health care providers with disabilities.

Education Committee

The ADIEM Education Committee identifies methods and opportunities for ADIEM to provide education of its mission to colleagues, learners, and the public. The committee also promotes scholarship in this regard, both within and outside of SAEM.

LGBTQIA+ Committee

The ADIEM LGBTQIA+ Committee promotes education, research, and scholarship in areas relating to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and others.

Membership Committee

The ADIEM Membership Committee promotes and tracks ADIEM membership.

Mentorship Committee

The ADIEM Mentorship Committee aims to provide resources to promote careers in emergency medicine for historically excluded and/or marginalized individuals, including minoritized ethnic and racial groups, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and individuals with disabilities.

Nominating Committee

The ADIEM Nominating Committee coordinates the recruitment and review of nominees for the ADIEM Executive Committee.

Operations Committee

The ADIEM Operations Committee shall develop, disseminate, and recommend broadly-applicable metrics for the use of emergency medicine (EM) operational leaders seeking to identify opportunity and justify efforts to address disparities in patient care and experience. It shall develop, compile, and disseminate a repository of operational interventions to reduce disparities and increase equity in patient care and experience with a goal of publishing and disseminating this for the reference of all EM operational leadership.

Research and Scholarship Committee

The ADIEM Research and Scholarship Committee promotes and coordinates activities of ADIEM members and sponsored projects toward scientific injury to areas relating to healthcare disparities, health equity, and diversity and inclusion.

Social Media Committee

The ADIEM Social Media Committee evaluates and develops ways to utilize social media to advertise, educate, and promote the ADIEM mission and events.
