AGEM Resident Member Scholarship
Purpose: AGEM seeks an interested resident who is enthusiastic about caring for older adults in the emergency department to attend AGEM events at SAEM21 Virtual Meeting. The recipient will attend the AGEM meeting and have the opportunity to lead a 5-minute presentation or discussion on a geriatric topic or case on a national stage. AGEM will also cover the winnerâ€™s SAEM conference fee and SAEM membership fee.
Application consists of:
- 1 page letter of intent discussing the applicantâ€™s reasons for applying and a brief overview of the geriatric topic or case they would like to present.
- Current curriculum vitae and contact information.
- Letter of support from the applicantâ€™s program director or another official in their residency assuring the applicant the time off to attend SAEM20 if chosen. Program Director Letter Template
- Submit application to AGEM@SAEM.org by March 29th. Award announcements will be made by April 5th. Conference hotels fill quickly so we recommend you reserve a room while the final announcement is pending.
Eligibility: Applicant must be able to attend the AGEM business meeting. Resident must become a member of SAEM and AGEM (AGEM will cover the cost for resident to Join SAEM). This scholarship is not open to the incoming AGEM resident representative, who will be supported by the AGEM Resident Representative Scholarship.
Award: 1 scholarship will be awarded and covers the winnerâ€™s SAEM conference fee and SAEM membership fee.
