2024 Awards: CLOSED

Purpose:

To grow the pipeline of physicians interested in geriatric care AGEM is sponsoring a medical student or an EM resident interested in doing a Geriatric-ED rotation.

There are 11 institutions able to provide a Geri-ED rotation. AGEM will award a scholarship of $1,000 to the winner student and/or resident to help cover their away rotation.

 

Application consists of:

One page letter of intent discussing the applicant's reasons for applying.

Current curriculum vitae and contact information.

Letter of support from the applicant's Dean or another official in their school for medical students, and letter from the Program Director for residents, assuring the applicant the time to participate in the away rotation if chosen. Dean's Letter Template

Submit application to AGEM@SAEM.org by July 1, 2024. 

Award announcements will be made by July 31, 2024. 

 

Eligibility:

Medical student or EM resident.

Student or resident must be an AGEM member (all SAEM members are eligible to join AGEM)

Special considerations will be given to applicants from economically or socially disadvantaged backgrounds, including those historically underrepresented in medicine
