Food Is Medicine: Join Us to Pack Meals and Spread Care

Step up, roll up your sleeves, and join SAEM as we support Open Hand Atlanta, an organization that prepares and delivers more than 5,000 nutritious meals every day to individuals and families in need.

During this hands-on meal packing event, you’ll help portion and package freshly prepared meals and snacks on Open Hand’s bustling assembly line. It’s an energizing, rewarding, high-impact experience — perfect for individuals and an amazing team-building opportunity for your program.

Volunteer Guidelines

To meet FDA requirements and maintain a safe food-prep environment, please note:

• Dress Code: Closed-toe sneakers required (slip-resistant shoes recommended). No sandals, crocs, or flip-flops. No shorts, tank tops, or crop tops — please wear long pants or skirts and a shirt that covers shoulders and midriff.
• Jewelry: All jewelry must be removed — including rings, watches, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and any permanent jewelry.
• Electronics: No headphones, earbuds, or Bluetooth earpieces.
• Age Requirement: Volunteers must be 13+. Ages 13–15 must be accompanied by an adult; 16+ may volunteer independently.
