MedEd Showcase: Amplifying Innovation in the Digital Era
Reflecting SAEM’s mission of innovation, mentorship, and community, the SAEM MedEd Showcase highlights high-impact, technology-driven advances in emergency medicine education. Digital educational tools and strategies are transforming how learners access information, engage with content, and contribute to the broader educational community. These innovations expand the reach and accessibility of medical education while responding to the evolving demands of emergency medicine practice. Such contributions are increasingly recognized as meaningful components of career development and academic advancement.
Building on the success of prior FOAMEd and MedEd Showcases, this session will feature three selected presenters, each delivering a concise pitch highlighting an innovative educational initiative. A panel of experienced medical educators will provide structured feedback, and presenters will share insights into both the successes and challenges encountered during development and implementation. A combination of panel scoring and live audience voting will determine the Showcase winner.
The dynamic format engages learners across training levels, including students, residents, fellows, and faculty. Attendees will leave with practical insights, inspiration for their own educational projects, and increased awareness of innovations shaping academic emergency medicine.
How Does It Work?
Three selected contestants will deliver five- to six-minute pitch-style presentations highlighting their MedEd innovation. The session will be moderated by a host, and a panel of prominent MedEd and FOAMed experts will serve as judges, providing feedback on each innovation. Judges' scores and live audience voting will determine the winner, which will be announced via SAM social media channels and in SAEM Pulse following the session.
