What Is an SAEM Forum?
SAEM Forums are immersive professional development programs designed to support leadership development, focused skill-building, and career advancement in emergency medicine (EM). These high-impact experiences combine expert-led instruction, interactive learning, and peer engagement to address real-world challenges across the EM career continuum.
Developed for learners at every stage—from medical students exploring the specialty to experienced faculty learners—each Forum is intentionally designed with clear learning outcomes and practical applications.

The Leadership Development Forum is designed to strengthen leadership capacity in EM and address the evolving challenges faced by leaders at all career stages. Through expert-led discussions and experiential learning, participants will explore core leadership principles, strategies for visibility and influence, wellness, and effective conflict management. Sessions emphasize practical application to support leadership growth in real-world settings.

Chief Resident Forum

The Chief Resident Forum prepares residents for the multifaceted role of chief resident by blending leadership development with the practical realities of managing residency programs. Participants will engage in interactive sessions focused on communication, conflict resolution, program leadership, and professional identity formation. The Forum also provides dedicated opportunities for networking and sharing best practices with peers from across the country.

Medical Student Symposium

The Medical Student Symposium provides a comprehensive introduction to EM and the residency application process. Through a full day of guided sessions, learners will gain insight into clerkships, away rotations, personal statements, interviews, and the Match. Participants will also have opportunities to engage directly with EM program and clerkship directors to explore programs and career pathways.

Education Summit: The Productive Educator's Playbook
