AGEM Author Spotlight: Katie Selman, MD, Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University


An Age-Old Debate: Driving Cessation Conversations in the Emergency Department

Summary: 

In this article, we summarized existing information about older adults and driving safety. We hope to provide insight on the opportunities for EM clinicians to consider driving safety in older adults and to highlight the need for further EM-based research on driving safety and future ED-based interventions.

Bio: 
Dr. Selman graduated from Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in 2017, completed emergency medicine residency at Cooper University Hospital in 2020, and finished fellowship in geriatric emergency medicine at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in 2021. Dr. Selman works as faculty at Cooper University Hospital. Her interests include resident education on geriatric EM, medication safety, and cognitive impairment.
