SAEM Annual Meeting abstracts reflect interactions between emergency departments and society's most vulnerable individuals, covering diverse topics representative of a day in the emergency department. These abstracts, produced by numerous researchers and educators, contribute fresh insights to emergency care, affirm prior findings, and provide potential practice-changing evidence. They collectively narrate a global emergency care experience, telling the story of important challenges and the ongoing need for knowledge. The best submissions, selected from over 1,000, are presented during a special plenary session.

Each year accepted abstracts are published in a special supplement of the Academic Emergency Medicine journal. Check out SAEM24 abstracts in the Academic Emergency Medicine (AEM) Supplement Issue.

Abstracts provide concise overviews of research, detailing study background, methodology, limitations, results, and study significance. Session lengths vary based on presentation type: plenary (15 minutes), full oral (12 minutes), lightning oral (eight minutes), and ePoster (seven minutes).
