The Response of Emergency Medicine to a Terrorist Attack
Wednesday May 15, 2013 4:00 - 5:30 pm
Peachtree Ballroom D-E (8th floor)
SAEM presents an in-depth review of the response to the Boston bombings, narrated by those who were there. Join first responders who discuss the triaging and initial treatment of the victims; an accepting hospital emergency physician who describes her experience with a deluge of victims; and leaders of these institutions as they discuss the city-wide response, the coordination of resources, and the lessons they learned. In addition, gain an understanding of the psychological effects of dealing with such events first-hand and hear the latest about critical incident stress and its impact upon physicians. Join us in acknowledging the tremendous care that our colleagues were able to administer to a multitude of victims during a terrorist attack.
