Salud Total (Total Health)

Based in the Amazonian rainforest of Peru, this program addresses the severe lack of primary care access in remote villages where preventable illnesses such as dysentery and anemia are public health threats. In partnership with Universidad Peruana Unión, Clinica Adventista Ana Stahl, and Productos Union, Salud Total embeds supervised student health interns in communities for one year to deliver nursing, psychology, and nutrition education. Fellows support, teach, and help lead this program during their longitudinal Peru rotations.
