The Society for Academic Emergency Medicine is excited to announce the creation of the Resident and Medical Student (RAMS) Board of Directors. This represents a major expansion of medical student and resident programs and services within SAEM.
The mission of the RAMS Board is to give residents and medical students a stronger voice within the SAEM community by developing educational content and annual meeting programming, promoting mentorship and career development, and identifying leadership and advocacy opportunities of particular interest and importance to our junior members.
We are looking for enthusiastic, innovative, and dedicated members to serve on the following RAMS Committees for the 2018-2019 academic year:
- Mentorship and Career Development
- Wellness and Resilience
- Social Media and FOAM
As a committee member during the inaugural year of RAMS, you would play a crucial role in influencing the direction of the Society at large and charting the course for the future of emergency medicine. Operating under the leadership of the RAMS Board, and with full support from the entire SAEM leadership, you would help develop future educational solutions that address the needs and wishes of residents and medical students.
These are exciting times in the history of our Society and for the future of academic emergency medicine!
If you would like to serve on one of the inaugural RAMS Committees, simply complete the RAMS Committee Interest Survey by October 31, 2017. The 2018 term of service for RAMS committees will begin at the SAEM annual meeting in May 2018 and last for 12 months. Notification of committee selections will be sent the last week of January 2018.
