Ethics-Relevant Short-Term Training Courses
There are multiple short-term courses available to the emergency physician with an interest in ethics and related topics. The majority of these programs focus on palliative care in the Emergency Department setting, often with a focus on improving communication skills. These programs are mostly geared towards practical and clinical skills, and less so purely academic or research training. Nonetheless, participants have been able to apply their training experience to shape the focus of their academic career and productivity towards becoming advocates for improved palliative care in the emergency setting.
