    Shannon Toohey is the Residency Program Director for the University of California, Irvine Department of Emergency Medicine. In 2016, she completed the Multimedia Design and Educational Technology (MDEdTech) Fellowship at the University of California Irvine. She completed medical school at UC Irvine School of Medicine, after which she completed her residency at the UC Irvine Medical Center. She received a Masters in Education, Multimedia and Instructional Design at Cal Poly Pomona. During her time at UC Irvine she has developed and expanded many educational programs for the residents including a flipped medical student and intern podcast curriculum, oral board review course and helped to revamp the curriculum. Her interests include asynchronous learning, flipped curricula, resident and patient education.

    Bradley Barth, MD

    Associate Dean for Faculty Development

    Dr. Barth is an emergency physician and the Vice Chair for Leadership and Professional Development and an Associate Professor in the department of Emergency Medicine.  He is the Associate Dean for Faculty Development in the School of Medicine and also serves as the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society chapter councilor.  Brad is a professional and executive coach and is ACC certified by the International Coach Federation.

    He received his undergraduate degree from Kansas State University and medical degree from the University of Kansas.  He completed an Internal Medicine internship at the Naval Medical Center of San Diego and served in the Navy as the flight surgeon for the Black Stallions of Helicopter Combat Support Squadron FOUR based in Sigonella, Sicily.  Upon completion of his navy service, he completed his emergency medicine residency at the fabled University Medical Center at UCSF-Fresno.  Prior to coming to the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2012, he worked at Saint Luke’s Health System and was volunteer faculty for the University of Missouri - Kansas City emergency medicine program.

    Andrew King, MD, MAEd, FACEP, FAAEM is the Associate Residency Program Director and Medical Education Fellowship Director at The Ohio State University. His professional interests include graduate medical education, curriculum design, assessment, program evaluation, and professional development. He has been the recipient of The Ohio State University Faculty Teacher of the Year, Ohio ACEP Medical Education Award, the CORD Faculty Teaching Award, and the CORD Academy for Scholars Award.

    Emergency Medicine Clerkship Director, Assistant Professor – Clinical Institution: The Ohio State University

    Christopher San Miguel is the 4th Year EM Clerkship Director at The Ohio State University. Originally from North Carolina, he attended North Carolina State University as a Park Scholar and completed medical school at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill. He completed his Emergency Medicine residency training at The Ohio State University where he served as Chief Resident. Before joining the faculty, he also completed a fellowship in Medical Education. His professional interests include curriculum development and innovation, simulation, and cognitive errors in medical decision making.
