    Dr. Nancy Kwon is the Vice Chair of Emergency Medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center (LIJMC), which is part of Northwell Health. As part of her role, Dr. Kwon oversees operations for the Department of Emergency Medicine at LIJMC. Dr. Kwon has a long history of administration and service at the regional and national level. She is very active in SAEM and the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). She was elected by SAEM members in 2021 to serve on the Nominating Committee, and currently serves as the Chair of the Faculty Development Committee. She also serves on the SAEM Research and Equity and Inclusion Committees, and has served on the ACEP Research Committee. Some of her areas of focus include developing clinical programs to support vulnerable patient populations, leadership in Emergency Medicine, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. She has published and presented nationally in these areas. Dr. Kwon received her Bachelor of Science from Brown University, and her Doctorate of Medicine from The University of Rochester. She completed her Residency in Emergency Medicine at NYU Langone School of Medicine/Bellevue Hospital Center, and stayed on as faculty until 2013. She received a Masters in Public Administration from The NYU Wagner School of Public Service.
