    Jody A. Vogel, MD, MSc, MSW, is an Associate Professor and the inaugural Vice Chair for Academic Affairs in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University. Dr. Vogel received a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan and a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Wayne State University School of Medicine. She completed emergency medicine residency training as well as a clinical research fellowship at Denver Health Medical Center, and obtained a Master of Science in Epidemiology from the Colorado School of Public Health. 

    Dr. Vogel has been a very active member of SAEM, with ten years of dedicated service on the SAEM Program Committee including serving as Program Committee Chair for the 2019 and 2020 Annual Meetings. She has also served as a member of the Graduate Medical Education Committee, Nominating Committee, Research Committee, inaugural chair of the Resident and Student Advisory Committee.  Dr. Vogel is a current Member-at-Large and past Resident Member of the SAEM Board of Directors. Dr. Vogel currently serves on the ACEP-SAEM Federal Research Funding Work Group and served as Co-Chair for the SAEM23 Consensus Conference on Precision Emergency Medicine. She has served on task forces to improve the consensus conference, Academic Emergency Medicine, and the Leadership Forum and has been a regular participant in the Annual SAEM Strategic Planning Sessions. Dr. Vogel has led initiatives aimed at increasing federally funded emergency care research including co-leading nominations of emergency medicine physicians to the National Institutes of Health Study Sections and developing and leading novel Program Officer Sessions at the SAEM Annual Meeting. 

    Dr. Vogel has devoted herself to research to improve emergency care and has a dedicated interest in underserved, at-risk populations. She is an active health services researcher with numerous publications and grant support from the National Institutes of Health and Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. Dr. Vogel has received many academic awards for her leadership and contributions to emergency care research.

    Dr. Dubosh is the Director of Undergraduate Medical Education at Harvard Medical School. She graduated from the Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) where she served as Chief Resident. She then completed a fellowship in medical education at BIDMC. She currently serves as the Medical Education Fellowship Director, Director of Undergraduate Medical Education, and Director of Education Research in the Department of Emergency Medicine at BIDMC.  Dr. Dubosh has served as a member of the CDEM Executive Committee for three years and is the current CDEM President. Her research interests involve learner assessment and evaluation, teaching communications skills, mentorship, and neurological emergencies.

    "I currently serve as an assistant professor, assistant residency director, and assistant clerkship director for the department of emergency medicine, as well as the medical director for the Center for Simulation Education & Safety Research at the University of Florida-Jacksonville. Additionally, I am the Editor-In-Chief and COO of sheMD.org, an online virtual community of practice for women in medical training.  

    I have been involved with AWAEM for 5+ years. Over that time, through my involvement with AWAEM, I have had the opportunity to learn and grow both personally and professionally. As the current AWAEM VP of Membership and previous regional meeting chair, I hope to step into a new role within the organization. I hope to bring my technical and organizational skills to the team in a different capacity. I would like to use the role as secretary to improve both internal and external communication regarding AWAEM activities."


    Dr. Alexandra “Lexie” Mannix received a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Certificate in Public Health from the University of Florida. Following her time at the University of Florida, Dr. Mannix attended medical school at Florida State University College of Medicine, graduating in 2014.
    Dr. Mannix completed her Emergency Medicine residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine- Jacksonville in 2017. Following residency, Dr. Mannix completed a Simulation fellowship at Rush University Medical Center and Cook County Hospital in Chicago.
    Dr. Mannix currently serves as an Assistant Professor, Assistant Residency Director, and Assistant Clerkship Director for the Department of Emergency Medicine, as well as the Medical Director for the Center for Simulation Education & Safety Research at the University of Florida-Jacksonville. Additionally, she serves as Editor-In-Chief of sheMD.org, an online virtual community of practice for women in medical training. Her professional interests include medical education, simulation, women in medicine, and social media in medical education.
    Dr. Mannix is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. She provides
    bedside education and patient care at UF Health and UF Health North in Jacksonville, FL.

    I completed my Emergency Medicine Residency at East Carolina University/ Brody School of Medicine and Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at University of Michigan where I stayed on as faculty. I am currently an associate professor of emergency medicine and pediatrics. I am also the director of medical student education in the emergency department and have been the clerkship director for the last 10 years. I have been on the Executive Committee for CDEM for the last three years serving as Treasurer for two years and currently serve as secretary. I am running for President-Elect for CDEM EC. For the last four years, I along with several other clerkship directors, have run a CD Bootcamp Workshop during SAEM. The workshop has been well attended and has made us aware of the need to help mentor and train new clerkship directors on running a clerkship, writing SLOEs for medical students, mentoring, along with several other areas. As president, I would look to work on helping mentor new clerkship directors. The board is currently working on a needs assessment for clerkship directors and this will help direct the efforts for the next several years.

    Dr. Michael Gisondi is the inaugural Vice Chair of Education in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University. He is the Principal and Founder of the Precision Education and Assessment Research Lab (The PEARL), Co-Director of the Scholarly Concentration in Medical Education, and the faculty advisor for LGBTQ+ Meds at Stanford School of Medicine. He is a Distinguished Member of the Stanford Medicine Teaching and Mentoring Academy. Dr. Gisondi is a medical education researcher and an expert in the application of social media in medical education. He is a member of the editorial boards of Academic Life in Emergency Medicine, International Clinician Educators Blog, and the Journal of Education and Teaching in Emergency Medicine. He is an associate editor for the textbook, Emergency Medicine, and conference faculty with the national certification course, EPEC-EM: Education in Palliative and End-of-life Care in Emergency Medicine. Dr Gisondi previously served on the Board of Directors for the Council of Residency Directors in Emergency Medicine. Earlier in his career, he served as Residency Program Director, Medical Education Scholarship Fellowship Director (SAEM-approved), and Director of the Feinberg Academy of Medical Educators at Northwestern University. In 2014, Dr. Gisondi was awarded the National Faculty Teaching Award of the American College of Emergency Physicians and was named Alumnus of the Year by Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. He completed the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine Chair Development Program and the Stanford Medicine Leadership Academy.
