In response to the call by the National Institutes of Health to increase the quality and number of grants submitted by emergency medicine researchers, the SAEM Research Committee has made continuous improvements to the Grant Writing Workshop. This session is based on webinars/didactics paired with small group sessions. This allows participants to obtain feedback on and make improvements to their draft grant proposals. This interactive workshop is tailored to researchers at all levels of practice and training. By the end of this session, attendees will be prepared to translate their nascent ideas into mature, successful grants.
Upon completion of this session, participants should be able to:
Sponsored by Research Committee
Describe the types of grants available and understand how to search for grants that are a good fit for a specific project
Describe the anatomy of a typical grant and the overall process and timeline to write a grant
Write a specific aims page and biosketch
Identify one to two new mentors
