FOAM Showcase

Modeled after previous highly successful sessions, contestants will be asked to prepare a 5 to 6-minute virtual presentation giving an overview of their FOAMed (free open access medical education) innovations. Presentations will be prerecorded. Host, Dr. Ali Raja, will introduce the judges and provide a brief overview of how the session will proceed. Contestants will each be given a short introduction before their prerecorded presentation is played. After each presentation, the host will solicit live feedback from the judges. The final 10 minutes will include comments on the educational focus and innovation of the presentations. A live poll will be opened during which audience members will be able to vote on the best innovation. This live vote will constitute one-third of the score. Judges will also vote to determine one-third of the final score. Finally, all participants will have their prerecorded presentations tweeted from the SAEM Twitter account. The activity generated from each tweet will determine the online component of scoring. Twitter activity will constitute one-third of the final score. The winner will be announced through the SAEM Twitter account the week following the didactic.
