Breakout groups will provide an opportunity to catch up with colleagues from across the country and to discuss critical topics in academic emergency medicine that are relevant to trainees, early, mid- and late-career faculty, including: barriers to promotion during a pandemic; the COVID-19 job search; diversity and inclusion metrics and benchmarks; and more. Join us for a virtual cocktail hour hosted by ADIEM's LGBTQ+ Committee. All are welcome to attend (LGBTQ+, advocates, and allies). A fabulous opportunity for networking and just plain fun with ADIEM’s LGBTQ+ Committee. Make sure to bring a tasty cocktail to enjoy!

SAEM Jeopardy 2021: COVID-19 Edition

The focus of this year will be COVID-19 and its impact as viewed through a sex, gender and diversity lens. The categories will include questions focused on biological sex-based differences associated with mortality risk as well as medications and vaccinations. In addition, it will include gender- and diversity-oriented questions that will highlight how certain populations have been disproportionately affected by this pandemic in relationship to both mortality and collateral damage. The goal of the game is to engage and educate academic colleagues about the importance of considering sex, gender, and diversity in their research, teaching and clinical care.
