“After the X-Waiver: Implementation of an Abbreviated Curriculum on Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) for Emergency Residents"

Aaron Krumheuer MD is a PGY-2 resident in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Michigan. He is a graduate of the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. His professional interests center on improving the care of individuals with substance use disorder. He has worked to promote harm reduction by organizing naloxone distribution and caring for the medical needs of IV drug users at a needle exchange and safe injection site. In addition, he has conducted patient safety research on the risk factors for self-harm in the ED, and he has helped to develop and analyze a curriculum for medical students on Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment. He is currently researching the implementation of a curriculum on Medication for Opioid Use Disorder for EM residents.
