AWAEM offers the following grants for members.
Provides $5,000 to support one early career investigator (fellow, instructor, or assistant professor during the award period) who wishes to address a research question in line with the core ideology (see below) of the Academy of Women in Academic Emergency Medicine. This award is intended to allow for preliminary data collection, analysis or collection of pilot data that will further support greater research endeavors.
The AWAEM Resident Travel Scholarship is designed to expose residents interested in issues related to the advancement of women in Academic Emergency Medicine to travel to SAEM. Selection of the awardees will be based on academic merit, demonstrated interest in issues related to the advancement of women in academic emergency medicine, and future potential as a representative of AWAEM.
AWAEM in collaboration with the Association of Academic Chairs in Emergency Medicine, will support participation in the Chair Development Program by raising a female academic emergency medicine leader. The scholarship covers the full tuition of $3,950 for 2017 CDP and a $2,500 travel stipend. Applications will be available in early summer for the 2018 CDP year. Completed applications will be due by mid-October 2017.
