SAEM Jeopardy 2020 (AWAEM and SGEM Interest Group Sponsored)

Wednesday, May 13, 2020

Cutting edge research has shown that the variables of biological sex and/or gender can impact an individual’s health and diseased state. It is now clear that men and women who are exposed to the same illness, trauma, toxin, evaluation, intervention, or medication often have quite different outcomes. In addition, new research emphasizes the critical importance of neurodiversity in leadership teams and research development to optimize innovation and problem solving in an increasingly complex and diverse world. This innovative session will use a “Jeopardy-style” game show format to engage and educate EM colleagues about the importance of considering the variables of sex and gender in their clinical care, academic projects, and teaching, and to appreciate the value that neurodiversity brings to teams and leadership.
