GEMSSTAR

The GEMSSTAR (Grants for Early Medical/Surgical Specialists' Transition to Aging Research) is an R03 award from the National Institute on Aging is intended to provide support for early stage clinician-scientists who have recently completed their clinical training in any medical or surgical specialty to establish a track record in aging research in their specialty area. The award currently provides $75,000 annually in direct costs for 2 years. Beeson

The Paul B. Beeson Emerging Leaders Career Development Award in Aging is a K76 award from the National Institute on Aging intended to develop of a cadre clinically trained early-stage investigators who have begun to establish research careers and have shown signs of leadership potential who can have a significant impact on the health of older individuals in their field of expertise. The award currently provides $225,000 annually in direct costs for 5 years.
