The New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medicine Department of Emergency Medicine Residency Program 

The New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medicine Department of Emergency Medicine Residency Program is proud to invite students who are underrepresented in medicine to apply for a sub-internship through the Visiting Clerkship Program (VCP).  DiversifiED, the WCM Department of Emergency Medicine diversity committee is sponsoring a stipend to offset the costs for an underrepresented in medicine (URiM) medical student to complete this 4-week clinical rotation in Emergency Medicine at NewYork Presbyterian. Out of state students are eligible for a $2500 stipend to reimburse travel and housing. Students will spend the four weeks, split into two weeks intervals at our Weill Cornell Medicine and Columbia Medical Center sites.  The four-week grant-sponsored clerkship is scheduled for September 2021. The dates of the rotation are August 30, 2021, through September 26, 2021  

*Stipend applications for the September 2021 rotation are due by May 15, 2021.*  

Please note that you are required to submit a separate application through VSAS. Your stipend application will be considered incomplete until you do so.

University of Vermont Visiting Student Elective Scholarship Program (VSESP)Sponsored by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at the Larner College of Medicine and the Emergency Medicine faculty at the University of Vermont Medicine Center. The Scholarship program funded through the generous donations of Emergency Medicine faculty members provides a $2,500 stipend to visiting students to support travel and housing during the elective. VCU Emergency Medicine Health Equity Acting InternshipThe Emergency Medicine Health Equity AI is a 4-week acting internship intended for students with a special interest in underserved patient populations or in underrepresentation in emergency medicine. Applicants must apply through VSAS, meet VCU School of Medicine requirements, and submit a 500-word description of how their experiences have influenced their study of medicine, their career choice (past, present, or future), or affected their appreciation of challenges faced by medically underserved and under-resourced populations. Applicants may apply as early as February 1st by uploading a CV and essay. Acceptances made prior to VCU opening in VSAS are contingent upon satisfying VCU School of Medicine requirements through VSAS. Financial assistance for the rotation will be offered by means of reimbursement.
