Be sure to use the official e-mail account you have registered with membership in sending e-mail or while replying to others. List Serve system will reject e-mail sent from accounts not registered with the group list. If you have a problem, please send an e-mail from your preferred business account to techsupport@saem.org so that we can correct your e-mail account recorded on the list serve and with membership.

 

Keep in mind that we have made changes to the the list serve so that a reply to an e-mail no longer sends to the entire group. When you click on Reply, it will be sent only to the individual who sent the e-mail to the group. . . to send your response to the entire group, click on Reply To All in your e-mail program.

Aging & Generational Issues in Academic EM TF

2009-2010

 

 

Objectives:

 

 

  1. Develop a didactic proposal reviewing the science of the impact of shift work on aging and possible solutions for academic emergency medicine faculty. Submit to the Program Committee to be considered for the 2010 Annual Meeting. Due September 1, 2009.

     

  2. Develop and conduct a survey and/or needs assessment of practices and policies related to aging of faculty in academic departments of emergency medicine. Survey tool due to the Board October 1, 2009; Survey results and analysis due February 1, 2010. Prepare a manuscript of the results for publication Manuscript to be submitted to AEM Due May 1, 2010.

     

  3. Develop a white paper on the impact of generational differences on the structure and function of academic emergency medicine departments. Explore concepts such as the opportunities for senior faculty, use of information technology and information sources, differences in learning styles, the clash between organizational culture and individual values, and possible solutions that can be applied to improve overall understanding of generational differences leading to an improved work environment. Due May 1, 2010.
