SAEM Regional Meetings
The Regional Meetings Task Force recommended that SAEM sponsor regional meetings in order to encourage and support participation in research by Emergency Medicine residents and faculty. Regional meetings will provide opportunities, particularly for young investigators, to present their original research and to participate in sessions designed to teach them essential research skills. Regional meetings conducted in areas where there are multiple residency programs will provide access to a wide audience of young investigators and promote academic exchange among residency programs, their faculty and residents. The 2008/09 Regional Meeting task force established 8 regions.

Call for Clinical Proposals Closes: September 30, 2009
The US Critical Illness and Injury Trials Group (USCIITG) promotes clinical research and the application of new data to improve outcomes for the critically ill or injured across the age (developmental) continuum. To this end, it aims to establish an inclusive, nationwide network of experts to review published data, establish national priorities, vet hypotheses, write clinical protocols, and generate pilot data. The success of the Trials Group is measured in part by the quality of the clinical proposals in development and the number of those proposals that compete successfully for federal funding.  Click here for more info and here for a link to their site . . .
