2009-10 IEM IG Objectives
  1. To help increase international membership to SAEM and to the International Emergency Medicine Interest Group.

     

     

  2. To strengthen the relationship with other international organizations, for example, EMRA's International Emergency Medicine Interest Group.

     

     

  3. To build a central repository of information on a variety of International Emergency Medicine-related topics; this may include, for example, Emergency Medicine core content lectures (which may assist those in other parts of the World develop Emergency Medicine as a specialty) or information on international rotation opportunities for residents.

     

     

2007-08 Objectives
  1. Information Availability
    1. Survey fellowship programs to obtain and make available information regarding projects/format/and foci of each program.
    2. Utilize list serve to make information available regarding conferences and international opportunities.
  2. Strengthen research agenda in international emergency medical care
    1. Encourage submission of publications from international authors to AEM.
    2. Survey membership of international interest group to align potential mentors with international researchers facing specific research questions/challenges.
    3. Establish formal consulting as a potential opportunity for international academic groups to pursue with SAEM. 
  3. To encourage international participation in and contribution to the National SAEM Annual Meeting, 2008
    1. Encourage applications for didactic session focused on international topics for National SAEM Annual Meeting 2008.
    2. Continue to showcase international research during international section annual meeting.
