Describe how the residents meet the requirement of engage in scholarly activity: 
Residents will participate in journal clubs and will complete a scholarly project in the resident's Area of Distinction which will be presented at the annual Residency Research Symposium as senior residents. Residents will also have the opportunity to participate in textbook chapter publications, multimedia educational website publication and ongoing clinical research with EM faculty. Two EM residents per year will be accepted to participate in the longitudinal UCSF Resident Research Program.
