Each resident completes a unique research project (may include survey / chart review projects or prospective research) or completes a manuscript that is suitable for publication (e.g. a case report, textbook chapter, or review article).
Unique attributes: 
St. Luke’s has a research institute that employs a full-time statistician to work with residents on their research projects from research design to analysis of results. The Department of Trauma has personnel that assist residents with research involving the extensive PA Trauma Systems Foundation database. Our medical imaging department assists with the preparation of research posters and prints high-quality posters for presentation. There is an annual Residents’ Research Day where the best of all our resident research is presented and category winners receive monetary awards.
