Describe how the residents meet the requirement of engage in scholarly activity:
esidents must complete a scholarly activity in order to successfully complete the training program. This activity must be presented at our annual research conference and handed into the program director. Residents are given a research month to complete this project. The research director as well as other faculty mentors are available to assist with these projects. Residents who need it and are interested in research can use elective time for additional research activity. There is an EBEM/Research Methodology/Journal Club session held at least every month. A yearly Research Methodology course is held every year for our second year residents by the Medical School. An annual research/cpc day is held annually by the institution.
Unique attributes:
Fulltime Research Director and several faculty very interested in doing clinical research. Research associates available to help with research. Funds available for research including funds to travel to present research. Yearly Research Methodology course given by Cornell faculty and the opportunity to do more research during elective time.
