Scholarly projects may include participation in division research activities, development of an educational program/curriculum or chapters and review papers.
Unique attributes: 
Resident non-clinical activities are organized into scholarly tracks. Examples of existing tracks are administration, medical education, simulation, ultrasound and EMS. The track is a 2.5 year program that includes the residents scholarly project, administrative project, teaching efforts and elective experiences all within their area of focus. The result is the development of a focused area of concentration and expertise that distinguishes the graduate as being an “expert” in an area.
