The DHMC Emergency Medicine Residency Program combines the benefits of learning at the only academic, tertiary care hospital in New Hampshire with an immersion trauma experience at Shock Trauma in Baltimore and dedicated community Emergency Medicine exposure. Unique clinical experiences include 1) a Rural Emergency Medicine rotation, during which the resident functions as the Assistant Medical Director of the Center for Rural Emergency Services and Trauma (CREST), 2) the opportunity to participate in, compare and contrast trauma care in the inner city to that in northern New Hampshire, and 3) rotations in a community hospital ED which has very few other training programs.
