Residents can present CPC's at SAEM. Residents can undertake other activities which benefit themselves, the department, the hospital, or the community and meet this requirement. Christ resident won "Best Resident Presentation" at 2006 SAEM annual meeting in San Francisco

Unique clinical or rotation experiences: Ultrasound integrated into everyday practice (1-2 ultrasound fellows/year.) Standing protocols for post-arrest therapeutic hypothermia, sepsis, AMI, ACS, CHF, community-acquire and nursing home acquired pneumonias. Unique didactic activities: Four-week orientation for EM-1's. Difficult Airway Day every year. High Fidelity Simulation Mannequins ("SimMan", "SimBaby", "Airway Man".) Critical Care Procedure Lab (Porcine models) EMS field trips for HAZMAT, extrication, search and rescue. Also, disaster drills. Case-based didactic learning. Oral exams which are a blending of oral exam, OSCE and simulated cases. This occurs 22 times/year with each EM-2 and EM-3. All day oral exam for EM-1's, EM-2's and EM-3's every year.
