EM Interest Group grants – February 17, 2012 (Top)

SAEM recognizes the valuable role of emergency medicine medical student interest groups (EMIGs), and awards $500 grants to support these groups' educational activities.

The goals of the SAEM Emergency Medicine Interest Group grants are:

  • To promote growth of emergency medicine education at the medical student level,
  • To identify new educational methodologies advancing undergraduate education in emergency medicine, and
  • To support educational endeavors of an EMIG.

Given these broad goals, there are few limitations on the nature of eligible proposals. Proposals should focus on educational activities or projects related to undergraduate education in emergency medicine. Grant monies may be used for supplies, consultation, and seed money. Faculty salary support is excluded.

Application Deadline: February 17, 2012

Institutional Research Fellowship Program –April 1, 2012 (Top)

SAEM is now accepting applications for the Institutional Research Fellowship Program. This program allows institutions to demonstrate their ability to successfully train research fellows in emergency medicine by meeting the standards set forth by SAEM. Once approved, SAEM will distinguish the institution from those that have not yet been SAEM-approved, by placing the fellowship listing under the category “SAEM-approved Research Fellowships” in the Fellowship Directory.

Institutions that wish to become an SAEM-approved research fellowship training site can apply by downloading the application at www.saem.org/institutional-research-fellowship-program. The application fee is $400. To view a list of sites who have already been approved, please visit the Fellowship Directory.

2012 Grant Writing Workshop (Top)

Early career investigators in emergency medicine:

“Are you in the process of submitting or resubmitting a grant application? Are you looking to improve your chances of federal funding? If you are, SAEM can help!

This year on May 9th, 2012 at the SAEM Annual Meeting in Chicago, the Research Committee will host a Grant Writing Workshop sponsored by the University of Cincinnati to demonstrate the best ways to improve your chances of being funded. Experts from around the country will share their secrets to becoming a federally funded researcher; but wait…there’s more! Last year the Research Committee offered the exclusive opportunity for participants to get personalized feedback on grants that were ready for submission, and due to the overwhelming success of the session, it’s back! In this individual feedback session, review and feedback will be provided for grants in various stages of preparation. Space is limited and selection for feedback session will be on a "first come first serve" basis.

You can register for the grant writing workshop online at http://am2012.saem.org. For instructions on how to submit your grant for review by our experts after you register, please contact Melissa McMillian at mmcmillian@saem.org or (847) 813-9823 x. 203.

Course fee is $125 and lunch and course materials will be provided.

I am just new here in Finland, and would like to visit the church or let say to join, to have a feeling that myself will be renewed or something, I really feel that I would like to go to church..I am interested about this fellowship but i am just quite nervous, because I don't know any person or people from there.
