Nominations are being sought for the SAEM elections that will be held in the spring of 2013. The Nominating Committee will select a slate of nominees based on the following criteria: previous service to SAEM, leadership potential, interpersonal skills and the ability to advance the broad interests of the membership and academic emergency medicine. The SAEM Foundation, in collaboration with CDEM, recognizes the valuable role of medical student emergency medicine interest groups (EMIGs) and awards grants to support these groups' educational activities. The final version of the 24 Emergency Medicine Milestones was released on October 9 by ACGME. The milestones can be found on the ACGME website. This document is the culmination of collaborative work by representatives of all the Emergency Medicine stakeholder organizations.
The EM Milestones represent the cutting edge of the ACGME milestone creation process in that it was guided by ABEM certification standards and their extensive database. Visit the SAEM website for more details.
Robert Woods Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholars Program (Top)
Resident physicians are invited to apply for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) Clinical Scholars program, which offers graduate-level study and research in a university-based, post-residency training program. The program provides scholars with generous funding and involves two years of study, resulting in a graduate degree with protected time for research. Application deadline is February 28, 2013.
