ADIEM Awards
2024 Awards: CLOSED
All nominees must be a current SAEM and ADIEM member. Self-nominations are welcome and encouraged. Winners will be announced during the ADIEM academy meeting at SAEM's annual meeting.
Nominations for the 2024 Academy Awards will open January 3, 2024 and close February 9, 2024.
Required Documentation:
- Nominee's CV
- One nomination letter explaining why the candidate merits the award. The nomination letter may be submitted either by a former or current colleague, mentee, or employer
Visionary Educator Award
To be presented annually to an individual who has demonstrated an extraordinary impact on the academic success of students or residents who are underrepresented in medicine or from historically marginalized groups.
Outstanding Academician Award
To be presented annually to an individual 7 years or more into practice who, by virtue of their scholarship, has addressed health inequities in EM and/or promoted cultural safety, justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace.
Outstanding Future Academician Award
To be presented annually to a resident or medical student who has demonstrated a commitment to the principles of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion through their work in education, research, or service.
Outstanding Early Career Academician Award
To be presented annually to an individual less than 7 years into practice who, by virtue of their scholarship, has addressed health inequities in EM and/or promoted cultural safety, justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace.
Sheryl Heron, MD, MPH Legacy Award
To be presented annually to an individual who has demonstrated a sustained, long-term commitment to the principles of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion through scholarship, mentorship, and leadership.
