Poster Presentation Information
1. Your presence is required from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm for morning poster sessions and from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm for afternoon poster sessions to facilitate discussion with meeting attendees.
2. You may hang your poster after 8:00 am for morning poster sessions; these posters must be removed by 1:00 pm the day of your session. Those attending afternoon sessions may hang their posters beginning at 12:00 pm; these posters must be removed no later than 5:00 pm.
3. The poster boards used are 4 ft high x 8 ft wide. Your presentation number will be affixed to your assigned poster board.
4. You are encouraged to bring up to 100 photocopies (8.5" x 11" or 11" x 17") of your poster to distribute to attendees.
5. Organize the poster with sections in order: title, objectives, methods, statistical methods, results, limitations, and conclusions. Start the introduction and objectives under the title in the upper left portion of the poster. Use the middle portion, top to bottom, for methods, results, and limitations. The conclusion should be in the lower right corner. Be sure to disclose any funding sources; we suggest they be displayed at the bottom center of the poster.
7. Lettering and illustrations should be legible from a distance of five feet. Charts, drawings, and illustrations should be similar to those used in making slides, but more heavily drawn. Do not mount illustrations on heavy material because of the difficulty in keeping them in position on the poster boards.
8. SAEM staff will discard posters not dismantled by 5:30 pm. SAEM cannot assume responsibility for loss or damage to posters.
9. Don’t miss out on creating an e-poster! E-posters will be available during and after the conference and can be created our online submission site. Emails with information will be in your inbox the week of February 18, or contact Tricia Fry, tfry@saem.org with questions.
