The Academy of Geriatric Emergency Medicine presents the following awards on an annual basis to recognize achievement in the field of geriatric emergency medicine. Please consider nominating yourself or a colleague!

Nominations for the 2024 Academy Awards will open January 3, 2024 and close February 9, 2024.

Gerson-Sanders Award

Awarded to member of the AGEM community for extraordinary mentorship by excellent advising, supporting, and advocating for mentees in academic geriatric emergency medicine.

Academic Career Achievement 

Awarded to academic faculty who have shown promise for significant career achievements in geriatric emergency medicine through research as well as education, service, advocacy, or administration, and who have worked to improve the field of emergency medicine and its understanding and delivery of care for our older adults.

Education Career Achievement

Awarded to member of the AGEM community for career achievements in advancing geriatric emergency medicine education through design and dissemination of training strategies, materials, and standards for providers from several disciplines.

Mentorship Award

Awarded to member of the AGEM community for extraordinary mentorship by excellent advising, supporting, and advocating for mentees in academic geriatric emergency medicine.

Early Career Achievement

Awarded to members of AGEM community who has demonstrated commitment and achievement during the early stage of their academic career. May award as many as 3 deserving recipients. Awarded for excellence in research, education, or administration depending on focus of winners. Applicants must have completed residency within 8 years.
